Objective of the Practices :-

Context:
Pachwad is a place located in remote area. It has historical background. It surrounded by three forts viz. Vairatgad, Chandan & Vandan fort. Chandan fort was capital of Chh. Shahu for three month in his beginning days. The Step well known as Bara Motechi Vihir built by Virubai, wife of Chh. Shahu. There is ancient temple at Kikali viz. Bhairavanatha Mandir. Proper Pachwad has historical background. Balajipant Natu belong to this village, he played important role in the last days of Peshawai. He built three temples and ghat at Pachwad on the bank of Krishna river. There are many historical places. There is good opportunity for prevention and conservation. These historical places motivate tourism in this area. There is need to awareness about importance of conservation of these places.
Practice:
History club is open for all students of college but student of last year of History Department participate in this club. Members of this group cleaned water pond on Vairatgad. Awareness about restoration of historical monuments has been done among students as well as local villagers by this club. Information about importance and restoration of historical monuments in the view of tourism is given to students and society. The Information about incident which was happened at that historical place is given to students and society. Member of club participate in the conference of restoration of forts.
History Club conducts various lectures on Rajarshi Shahu Jayanti, Kranti Din, during Jagar Nari Shakticha Decade, Shivajayanti, Shivrajyabhishek Sohala Din
Evidence of Success:
Students and people understood the importance of restoration & conservation of historical monuments. They knew that if historical places should persevered & conserved, there should be more chances to increase tourism. Students had get information about local history, forts & construction of forts and other local historical places and monuments. Department of History recorded name in Limca Book of Record in 2016 for Durga Puja with Shivaji Trail Pune.
The Jagar Nari Shakticha decade celebrates during 3rd January to 12 January every year. In this decade History Club organises various lectures on various subjects especially of alumni and experts. Students had get information about Savitribai Phule and Rajmata Jijabai. Alumni built new relation with college and students.
Problem countered:
Though History club is open to all college students, there is poor response of students. There should more extra time to this activity. There is neutrality in society about historical monuments and society does not have information about historical monuments.
Resource Require:
More fund for restoration, conservation and awareness in society.
